Carlisle is a small, historic city, (complete with castle and cathedral) located in the North-West of England, within ten miles of Scotland. This area is full of colourful history including notable figures such as Emperor Hadrian and his infamous 'Hadrian's Wall', Rob Roy, William Wallace (Braveheart), Robert the Bruce, and Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Because of the small size of the DTS, we like to get out at least a few times to enjoy both the local area and further afield. The Lake District, an area of outstanding natural beauty is only a short drive away.
Carlisle is easily accessible by:
Car (via the M6),
Train - to/from all major UK cities (London in under 5 hours)
Air - Manchester (120 miles), Newcastle (65 miles), and
Glasgow (100 miles).
Stranraer is only 100 miles for people travelling from Ireland via Ferry.
